Yay for more good dates!!

I've been on 4 fantastic dates....this week! Going from nothing all year (and all my life) to all the sudden all this at once. It's pretty fun!
#1. My group date that was arranged by my institute teacher. Played games and told jokes and laughed a lot.
#2. Picnic at the pirate ship. Played dress up. Laughed a ton.
#3. Brought someone to fhe culture night where we ate a ton of great food and teased each other and talked a lot.
#4. Made dinner together and talked a lot and played games.
Oh, and today I went to someones house and destroyed their snow cave. It wasn't a date, but it was still fun. And we ended it in a snowball fight! My hands are still tingly and hot feeling and scraped up.
Yeah, that and doing homework. That's about all that's going on in my life right now. It's almost the weekend. And it's almost spring!
Hope everyone is having a great week.

Yay for good dates!! Boo on bad ones!!

So, I went on a fantasticly fun date on Friday evening! The boys made dinner, and then we took it as a picnic to a pirate ship. There is this guy (a teacher at the college) who totally built a big pirate ship in his back yard. It is high tech too. There is an entire cement foundation, electricity, surround sound (with pirates of the Caribbean sound track), etc. Amazing! Anyways, it is like an extra guest room with a memory foam mattress. It was pretty fun. And we found the dress-up box and played with that for a long time. Much, much fun!
Anyways, I had to cut that fun and amazing date short because I was supposed to be meeting someone else at the school musical of Little Women. Only, he didn't go to it. He was at the Stomp (lame attempt of a dance), but he wasn't even dancing....he was in the activity room playing the Wii. I was pretty sad about it. Mainly because this was my friend from high school that was coming down to do a campus tour and everything. He should have been excited to see me, only he only talked to me for a total of about 1 minute. He was too preoccupied with his game and having fun with other people. The least he could do was be interested in me for a second. Or communicate with me about what his plans were so I might be able to see him at a better time during the weekend. But, that wasn't the case, so it made me kind of sad. Because of that I took an 11:30pm stroll around the campus. It was really nice, and in the process I ran into the kid that I had gone on the earlier date with. That was fun. He and two of his roommates walked me the rest of the way home posing as my body guards...and throwing snowballs at me.
I guess overall the night was fun. As long as I forget about the stupid parts.
Well, I have to get to bed now. I need to wake up early to finish up a little bit of homework that I didn't want to do over the weekend.....I was too busy studying for Art History again. It wasn't as fun as last time. My friend and I were out of creative memory devices to remember things. Ha, and my presentation in Psychology tomorrow is about improving ones memory. Too bad some of it doesn't apply! Or work instantaneously. Oh well!! We are showing the short term memory loss clip from Finding Nemo in our group presentation. I'm pretty excited about that. It's going to be amazing. And some people are going to play the memory game Simon. Should be good!
Ok, I really am going to bed now.
Good night!
I miss you all!

sigh

Some people. Honestly. I don't know what to do sometimes. Oh well! It's their problem, right? I shouldn't get involved. The only problem is when it does involve me. Ok, that's it. I'm forgetting it right now. Someday it will be over and I won't have to deal with it any more!
Aside from that little break down....I'm doing pretty good. I had a great weekend at home. And I have been enjoying the chair that I won. It makes for a great place to cuddle up and write in my journal, or do homework, or take a nap. Yay. Any of those things sound good right now, but I don't have the time for it.
Someday I will get more pictures on here. I just don't have time to figure it out and deal with it right now. I feel stressed. *sigh*
Well, I have to go to band shortly. We are playing a fun medley of songs from Les Mis. It's fun. And after that I get to have free dinner because I made the Deans list, or something like that. I got above a 3.5 last semester so I get free food. Cool!! I can handle that!
So long for now.

I won!! I won!!

I did win something tonight. First of all, the comedian, Buzz Sutherland, was great. Laughed a whole lot. Very funny!! But after the show, they gave out prizes. And I won something. It was done on a drawing system, so all our seat numbers were in a bowl. And mine was drawn. I won a nice comfy lounge chair thing. It's one of those circular chairs that holds you like a ball. I'll put a picture on later, I was just excited about it. It's brown. And comfy. And fun! I like winning things. Yay.
I get to go home today!! Yippee!! I'm pretty excited for that idea. I love that my Fridays are done at 11:30. Too bad I have to wait for my roommates to be done at 3:30 before I can leave. Too bad I'm so nice and give them rides home too. Oh well.
Good night, all! Hope the weekend is fantastic for everyone, because I know mine will be!

14 February 2008

Well, I think my quote/motto has been working. Either that or I am just on a high this week because I get to look forward to going home again. No, really, this week has been good. I am really excited to be home for the long weekend. And I am in a good mood because it is Valentines Day today. What a great holiday!! And there is a comedian coming tonight. I'm excited to laugh a lot. Plus, they are giving out prizes....maybe I'll win something! Unlikely, but possible.
I kind of have a stomach ache right now, not the most fun, so I think I'm going to take a short power nap. (By the way my posts are going it sounds like I am pretty lazy. Power nap here, regular nap there, etc. I promise I am super busy, and these little naps are deserved and needed!) :)
Hope everyone is doing well.

Valentine Recall

This is a great true story I just recalled today (Valentines Day). I remember one Valentines day when I was really little. I was crazy about being able to give out valentine cards. My mom referred to taking the valentine cards around as "kicking valentines." Well me being so young... I think four years old... took the meaning literal. My sister took me to "kick valentines." I got to the first house. My good buddy named Brady lived there. My sister handed me the valentine and knocked on the door. I, thinking I was out to "kick valentines," dropped it on the ground and gave it a great big kick! Yep! It was such a force full of great impact that it broke all the candy inside. I understood that I was out to kick valentines and that is just exactly what I did. My sister really wondered what I was kicking it for and just then Brady's mom opened the door and my sister was faced with explaining the broken candy and the scuff on the envelope. After leaving Brady's house my sister explained that I was not out to "kick" the valentines but to "hand" them to the person. I was a little kid. I took it literal.

So, I came up with a quote that I'm going to live by....at least for a while. I don't know if it's a real quote or if I made it up, but anyways, "You are what you pretend to be." And I guess it can continue further than that....like, "pretending can turn into reality." Does any of that make sense to anyone?
Well, my whole point is that I'm going to pretend to be completely happy and not let anyone know when or if I feel sad. And maybe it will turn into reality eventually.
This week is a good week to start, too, because it had a good beginning. Firstly, it was good because I made an unexpected trip home on Friday. I needed to go home, so I did. And it was great. I had a sleepover with my best friend, and watched movies with mom, and relaxed a lot. Much needed. Then I came back Sunday morning so I could go to my church. Church was great. Then the World-Wide Leadership Training Broadcast which was excellent. And then I got to talk to a few of my friends last night. Which was great and fantastic.
Yeah, then this morning I woke up early enough to write a rough draft of my paper before my 8:30 class. I had started it, but then needed time to relax for myself, so I didn't do it over the weekend. Yes, I know that's called procrastination, but I would have exploded if I didn't take that time for myself. And my paper still got done. And I have time before Wednesday to polish it. So, it was all good. And the rest of my day was pretty normal. I only almost fell asleep once. In Oceanography. We were watching a movie about the ocean. Obviously. But it was dark, and I was tired....!!
Well, it's time to do my part of the research for a group project. I really don't like group things. Yes, in college it is a bit different and people do pull their weight, I just don't really like relying on other people for my grade. Sometimes it can be beneficial, but not usually! Anyways, I also get to go to FHE tonight. Don't know what we are doing....but after that we get to have Stargate night again! Yay. I have missed it!
Hope everyone is well!
Love you all!

People...

Why are some people just so......weird? Or hard to get along with? It doesn't matter how patient I try to be, certain people just have a way of getting on my nerves.
Well, yeah, I am feeling that right now.....towards a number of people. I'm trying not to, but sometimes it's just really difficult.
Basically, I am overly stressed. And there are so many things to do. So many things to think about. So many things to deal with on a daily basis. Gets crazy sometimes. I guess I will just have to make sure I have time for myself every once in a while so I can clear my head and relax if even for a minute. That is hard to come by sometimes, though! I think swimming has become my saving grace. Yay for free facilities!
Got to get busy again!
bye

05 February 2008

I just ran a mile and a half without stopping. I was so proud of myself. It felt really good, but now I am so utterly exhausted!
Last night we had FHE at our high councilman's house. It was a 20 minute drive, but worth it. This house was a mansion. On the verge of castle. It was huge and gorgeous! And we got food. And watched some of the super bowl. And got to sit on regular couches in a regular house. It was so fantastic! It's amazing how much you can miss a home feeling.
Well, I have more studying for Art History. It's my test today. And I am going to be more prepared for this test than I have for any test in my life. It's going to be great!

04 February 2008

My body feels tired and old. I wore a relatively new pair of shoes yesterday and it gave me a huge blister that was bleeding. On top of that I worked out a lot on Saturday which made my arms sore. And my bed is really bad, so I have a terrible and painful back ache today. Results: I'm limping, can't lift anything, and I'm wincing because of back pain. Entertaining, eh? I think so. I think it calls for a 20 minute power nap before Institute. Good plan. On that note, good night!

Studying is funny!

So, I just spent the last 3 hours studying for Art History. I think I just had one of the funniest times of my life. I have a study friend, and we were coming up with different ways to remember the various pieces of art with the artist who did it, and the time period it came from(plus facts about each piece). Hilarious! It's crazy how many artists unintentionally use symbols of their names!! And it was great that the person I was studying with has my same sense of humor and simple brain. Lots of laughs.
Sadly, studying for English wasn't quite the same. Boring! I really dislike English classes. Mainly because you always have to know the teachers mind and what he wants. Not like math where there is a right and a wrong answer. No, it's just what the teacher thinks qualifies. I hate it. I am a unique individual, not a clone of my teacher. We will obviously have opposing views on some things. Oh well! After this semester I don't think I will ever have to take an English class again. Hooray!
On another happy note, I have an exercise partner in my gym class, and she is teaching me how to play racquetball tonight. Yay. And then we are going swimming. I love the idea of having free facilities for students. Good times!
Well, I better get busy finishing my English homework and getting it out of the way. BLAH!!
Good evening, everyone!
