April Fun!

The month started out with April Fool's Day. I don't usually do much for this silly holiday, but this year I decided to pull a trick with our dinner. We had cupcakes for dinner and eggs for dessert. (Cupcakes=meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy. Eggs=lemon yogurt and mango).
On April Fool's/General Conference Sunday, I decided that Leah could wear a cute Spring/Easter dress that I accumulated in our stack of baby girl clothes. The combined dress, hat and shoes turned out adorable!! Here's how she looked!!
Since she looked Easter-y, she needed a duck and a lamb in the pictures with her!!
I love that face!!!!!!!!
Look at those brown eyes!!!!
We went to baby animal days on Friday!!! It was AWESOME!!! I got to hold a lamb.

We went on a train ride!
Leah liked the duck....
And the chick!
My favorite was this tiny goat baby!
We also went on a wagon ride.
This was my other favorite. The baby turtles!!!!!!! SO CUTE!
Leah makes a cute flower!
The baby bears were darling.
My handsome hubby with an old tractor.
Baby horse.
The baby cow sucked my thumb. Awesome!

Leah looking cute with her toys.
Then it was Easter. I didn't get a picture of our Easter stuff all laid out, but Leah got a board book, 2 plastic bath books, a teething ring, and a linking toy (that has a cute caterpillar that they attach to). Daddy got some chocolate and a suction cup paddle game. Mommy got sour patch kids, air wick air fresheners, and a new sweater!
I also decided on Friday that I wanted to make Leah an Easter outfit after all (I wasn't going to originally, since I've been so busy). Well, I worked ALL day on Saturday, then took a trip to Hobby Lobby and Walmart, came home for dinner and getting Leah to bed, then made her outfit from 8:30-12:30. Good thing the dress was easy. And it was TOTALLY worth it. She looked ADORABLE!!
I made the flower, dress, leggings (out of adult socks), and her shoes!
Oh, and look at her OFFICIALLY sitting up. She is stable enough that I feel fine sitting her down and walking away.
We took a nice family walk to the park. It was SUCH nice weather. Beautiful. Daddy had fun playing with her in the swings......
On the slide.....
And learning how to pick flowers!
They also read some stories!
And here are a few other Easter pictures that I couldn't resist posting. She's just TOO cute!

Last night I did not sleep well AT ALL. Today I really wanted to take a nap, so right when Leah fell asleep, I rushed to the couch to sleep as well. She woke up 10 minutes later, but Alex got her out of bed and I thought he was playing with her. About 45 minutes later (nice nap for me), Alex brought her in to me with this note that they did together. He helped Leah finger paint. Awe!! I have the best husband ever!

Leah has started making different kinds of sound/syllables. Instead of the baby "Ah, ah" sounds, she does "da da da da da......ba ba ba ba." It happens a lot when she is frustrated. I promise I'm not a bad parent for video taping my baby crying. Just watch and enjoy her talking!! I think it is super cute, although I'm a little biased!!

Happy Easter, Everyone!!!
We've done lots of stuff this April, and it's only the 9th. I'm looking forward to LOTS more fun things in the rest of the month!! Leah is so much more interested in everything, so it's exciting to show her new things. My babysitting job was just reduced to only being Saturdays, so I'm excited to have more time during the week just to play with Leah. She is so much fun. My whole day is spent trying to make her sweet giggle come out. I'm so grateful that I get to be her mom!!
