Thanks Everyone!!!

Thank you all for jumping in and helping with everything! I know it's 3 months away and shouldn't be stressful yet, but believe me, I'm carrying my fair share of stress. There are so many things to think about, plan, talk to people about, change, call, etc. It never ends, and I'm sure it will never get easier. But thank you everyone for all your suggestions and willingness to do anything. It's not everyday that I get to be engaged and get married!!! And it is very fun. I only wish that I could be with Alex so we could still date instead of being limited to phone conversations every night. Somehow that doesn't quite cut it.
I love you all!!
Thank you!!
Kristen

I'm Engaged!

On Tuesday I went to Salt Lake to buy a wedding ring for Kristen. On Sunday I talked to her dad and she never found out because she was occupied with other things. It was perfect! She knew nothing about it. I went to her house on Saturday after work and we went to Amy's wedding reception. I was asked there by Amy and her mother when this [getting married] was going to happen for Kristen and I. I couldn't help but have a blank stare and not say anything because I knew what I was going to do. We went hiking today and I had wanted to hike to a cave up Maple Canyon but we could not find the trail. After not finding it we decided that we weren't on the right trail and that we should go back and hike up to Dizzy Rock (where I was going to propose to her). When we had made it to the top Kristen felt really nervous and worried because she had slipped on the way up and we were up there really high! We sat up there for a good while and I decided that it would not be a good idea to propose in that moment considering the way she was shaking. I waited until we were at the bottom. I took her to see the hieroglyphs that are there, and we looked for the boot prints in a rock. (Legend has it that some cowboy was chased by indians over the edge of Dizzy Rock.) After not finding the rock we went over to a grove of trees. I asked her if she had ever thought of spending an eternity with me. She said yes and said that she was going to ask me on top of Dizzy Rock if she could have me forever. I started digging in my pocket for the ring... it seemed to not want to come out, but it did. I then got down on one knee and asked her to marry me. She said yes, and there's the history. We are planning on getting married in the Manti Temple on 16 October 2008.

I'M ENGAGED!!!

Hey flamie!!! Everyone asks for the details, but I've told the story so many times that the story gets shorter and shorter!!! Here we go:
We were hiking up Maple Canyon today and we ended with a hike up Dizzy Rock. It is very properly named in that it did make me pretty dizzy to stand up there. Luckily I had a big strong Alex with me to protect me!! And he did a good job of it, too. There were times where I thought I was going to seriously injure myself (or him), but we made it back safely! At the bottom of the mountain we were looking at hieroglyphs and also looking for a rock that had boot prints in it. We couldn't find the boot, but we conveniently found our way into a little grove of trees. There we were hugging and such (because I was glad to have both of my feet safely back on solid ground....and thanking him for getting me there safely). Anyways, he asked me if I had ever thought about spending an eternity with him. I said yes, and he got down on one knee and pulled out a beautiful ring and asked me to marry him!! I said yes again!! And then we commensed hugging and kissing again, but you probably don't want to hear about that part!!! :)
The funny part.....while we were up on top of Dizzy Rock, we were sitting for a while, looking out at the cliffs and the beautiful scenery and I was thinking that I wanted to ask him, "Can I have you forever?" Luckily I held my tongue for 10 more minutes!! :)
Pictures to come later!!
Much love to everyone!
