So, not much has been going on lately. Alex started school and has been super busy with homework and classes and work. I was recently told that I don't have to babysit anymore, so now I'm home 24/7 and Alex is gone 24/7. That means we're kind of boring. Leah has been super cute, though. Last Monday she finally learned how to clap. (See video at end). She can also stand up in the middle of the floor and stay standing for more than a minute. She doesn't try walking, although she has taken 1 step a few times this week.
| This picture shows her being cute with her toys and showing off the cute tights she got for her birthday. |
| Leah has been making this face a LOT. And it usually involves spitting, too!! :) |
| See? Here it is again!! |
| She was happily sitting in her Bumbo, then this happened!!! Ha ha!! Oops! |
| She really enjoys lying on her back to play with toys. I often find her rolling around with some kix or a toy or something. It cracks me up!! |
| She also LOVES playing peek-a-boo. She'll do it by herself frequently! |
| Big girl drinking from a sippy cup! |
| STANDING!!! |
| I am the Relief Society pianist, so Sunday morning Leah helped me practice the piano!! |
| My baby loves to sit/climb/play on this black couch. She knows to pull the pillows off, climb on them, and then she can get back down (head first) back onto the pillows. She'll sit on this couch for a LONG time!!! Right now she climbed up, and fell asleep on it!! It is her favorite place to play (besides our bed, but we usually keep our bedroom door closed and she can't climb on it by herself). |
| Cute. This is one of the last times she was nice to books. Now she eats them, so we had to take them away. She can only have books when Mommy or Daddy is reading them to her. |
| So, I apparently have to be better about naps.....Leah has fallen asleep on the floor so many times lately, in fact, she just fell asleep on the couch as I am doing this blog. |
| Here it happened again..... |
| And again!!!! If I do put her in her crib, though............ |
| This usually happens....... |
| And again!!! Not only did she bunch up her bed mat, but she reached over the side and pulled down EVERY SINGLE burp cloth and a few diapers. | | |
So, since she is apparently ok to sleep wherever she wants, and making a huge disaster if she is in her crib, I decided it was time for her to learn how to sleep on a regular bed on the floor. Well, my mom has a mattress that we can put on the built in bunk bed spot, but it will take a while before we can get it. I thought we could start with something a little smaller and Leah can still get down off of the step right now. This is what we came up with!
| She likes to play in there!!! Bedtime that night ended in a disaster, though......I was up with her for about 2 1/2 hours. Finally at 11:30 I set up her crib again and she was asleep in 5 minutes. Undeterred, I was bound to try again. So, the next day for nap time ended up a success!!! | | |
| Woo!!! SUCCESS!!!!! Well, her nap only lasted about 25 minutes, but last night Alex and I were both trying to get Leah to bed. It took about 30 minutes, but she fell asleep at 9 and didn't wake up until 8:30 this morning. Such a big girl to sleep in her own space!!! |
Here is her clapping video!! She claps at everything. So cute!! (And also, playing on the black couch is her favorite!!)
To try and not be boring, we did go to the demolition derby on Saturday. It was kind of boring this time. And someone kept smoking basically right under our seats. I thought that was rude for a nice public family event. Oh well!! We also had the ward pinewood derby.....no rules.....and Alex won this year!! Complete with a trophy and everything. Of course his car had a motor in it. And working head/tail lights. He's so tricky!! Lets see.....that's about it for the past 3 weeks. We're still alive. Just not very exciting!! It's a good thing we have a fun anniversary weekend planned next month. Something to look forward to!!!! :)
