Silly Baby!!

I have Leah do her animal noises about 20 times a day. Fish face is one of my favorites.....and now you can see why!!!!!!!   (For my record, she now does elephant, doggie, fish face, cow, owl, monkey, cat, lamb, horsey, snake, and giraffe).

This is probably the last picture you will get of Leah with only 2 teeth on the bottom.  A third is poking through on her left side.  She is such a silly, happy kid.  I get weekly e-mails from babycenter.com about what to expect from my toddler and some helpful tips.  The last 4-5 e-mails have been all about how my baby should throw a fit about thus and such or her favorite word is probably 'No' or she'll hate doing this.......well, not Leah.  She never throws ANY fits (unless she's too hungry and the food isn't coming fast enough), and she has never said 'No' in her life.

Well, yesterday we COMPLETELY ran out of milk.  We typically have whole, 1%, and Skim, but we didn't have a drop left of anything.  Seeing as how this is a problem putting 'someone' to bed, I took Leah to the store last night which postponed her going to bed until 9:30.  Because of that, this morning I never heard anything from her room.  Finally at 10:15 I went to check that she was still even in there.....this is what I found!!!

So much for that mattress we bought her.  I think she ends up like this frequently.  She'll climb out of bed (or fall out) but be too tired to get all the way back in!!!!

Some other things we love about Leah:
*She says "Hi" and waves to EVERYONE!!!  People at the grocery store do a double take because Leah just said hi to them!!!  She has put smiles on lots of strangers' faces!!
*She'll randomly come over to me (or Alex) and squeeze us around the legs.  She not only hugs, but her cute little hands pat pat us in the most wonderful hugs, ever!!
*If we say, "Can Mommy or Daddy have loves?"....she'll run over into our arms and give a great big hug with her head on our shoulder.  Too cute!
*Her walking is still adorable....the way she swings her arms around funny.  She has almost reached the point of running....and does that best when daddy plays 'hide and seek peek a boo' with her!!
*She signs 'Please' for everything.  Usually she'll point to something and say, "Eech", to which we reply, "Would you like some?"....Then she signs please and waits for us to give it to her.
*In the morning, or after her nap, she comes over to her bedroom door and bangs on it to let us know she's ready to be let out.  Also, the second I put my shoes on, she's over to the front door banging on it because she knows we're going outside.  Sometimes she'll even bring me my shoes in hopes that we can go somewhere.  Too bad it's getting too cold for a regular outing.  It's hard to resist her sweet pleadings, though.

Well, Leah, we sure love you!!!  And we're excited for you to be a big sister.  Someday we'll eventually find out if you're having a brother or a sister....The doctors office has postponed that ultrasound TWICE!!!  Sad day.  Hopefully we'll know on Friday and we can go get baby brother/sister a Christmas present from you!!!

Red Dress!

Yesterday my mom came up to Logan so we could go shopping together.  I'm planning on doing a better photo shoot outside (these were taken after church and Leah was tired and cranky) and make her a bigger beret (I had limited black fleece this morning).........but I wanted to show my mom how adorable Leah is in the dress she bought for her!!!!!!

ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!!!

"Hi!!!!"

The title of this post comes from the word that I hear a hundred times a day!!!  Leah LOVES to walk around saying 'hi' to everything and wave to anyone and anything.  She knows, though, that when someone is leaving, or if we go out the door, she says, "Bye!!!" and waves again.  She is SO smart!!!  I love this silly pumpkin head.  She also goes and bangs on the door whenever I put my shoes on because she knows that if I get shoes on we are going outside.
Hanging out with me in the kitchen.

Running away from the kitchen.

Leah was helping me fold laundry and kept grabbing this shirt.  I put it on her and she wandered off happily!!  Silly kid.

Wearing momma's shirt and holding her special blanket.  What could be better?

This is caught mid-trip.  The next second she is face first on the ground!!

This is how Leah gets through the recliners.  Too funny!

Rubbing her eyes, but she looked pretty cute!

I asked Alex what I should do one Saturday and he suggested I take Leah to the zoo.  Good thing he did, because the zoo closed the next day and will open again next spring.  The Logan zoo is mostly an aviary, but has a few other things.  Leah liked to point to all the animals!!

Peacock!!  We watched it jump/fly up onto that cage.  They are huge.

Pointing to ducks.

Pointing to more ducks.  Duck food was 10 cents from a dispenser machine, so I got some to lure the ducks closer.  Leah thought that was the greatest thing!!!

Pretty duck!

Basically the only picture I took over Thanksgiving!!  I need to be better at taking pictures.

Reading stories.  She LOVES books.  And she's pretty careful about reading paper ones by herself and not ripping them. :)

Last night I put Leah to bed at 8:30.  At 9:30 this morning I still had not heard from her, so I opened her door to check.....this is what I found!!  Silly kid.  That can't be comfortable!!

She loves playing with this toy.  I thought for sure she'd be able to do some of the lever ones first.....nope, she can do the one that twists.  That's pretty coordinated if you ask me!!!

Carrying it around wanting me to open all of them again!!
Well, that's all for now.  We have 2 1/2 weeks left of the semester and then we might get to have a little bit more fun.  For right now, though, Alex does school, homework and work ALL day long.  I have tried to keep busy going to the moms institute classes, our walking/exercise group for moms in the ward, doing projects, and taking naps when Leah naps.  Lately she's taken a 3 hour nap every day.  That means I can get a nap and get something done!!!
Just one more week (and a day) until we find out whether this next little peanut is a boy or girl.  Can't wait!!  And hopefully just one more week of feeling lousy.....with Leah I was sick until 18 weeks.  Next week is 18, so I'm hoping I'll feel better after.  It's much more fun to feel good than to feel icky!!  Not too bad, I just get gaggy at different smells and don't quite feel like myself.
Also, we haven't really talked a lot about it, but one day we asked Leah, "Where's the baby?" and she pointed to my tummy!  So cute!  She knows and understands a whole lot more than we give her credit for.  She can do about 10 animal noises (dog, fish, elephant, cow, horse, lamb, owl, monkey, cat....).  She also says hi, bye, ball, WOW, ahh (for uh oh), and oh (being surprised or frustrated)!!  And my other favorite thing is when we ask her to love her dolly, she'll grab it, stick it in her arm, and pat its head with her other hand.  Pretty cute!!!
I love the way she says "Wow" in this video!!  Enjoy!

Just us!!!

Here's a little update about us being us!!!
Leah always wants to be like her daddy!!!

I found her sleeping like this one morning.  Too cute!!

Our Anniversary Inn Hawaiian Hideaway!!

The bathroom is actually bigger than it looks....it goes farther than the wall.  :)

Cool tub with a waterfall that splashes down.

Tiki Bar.  They give complimentary sparkling cider and cheesecake.  We recommend not eating at the bar, though.....the benches are NOT comfortable.

Doing the hula!

I am in love with this kid and this outfit.  She looked SO cute!!!  :)

Loving Daddy!

"Not another picture, mom!"

Alex and i were trees.  I'm pretty proud of the maple leaves I cut out for Alex.

Leah is the owl.

Owl in a tree.  We had to represent both kids!!

Flying!

Smoosh!

She actually loved that mask and will keep it on for quite a while!

Owl shoes!

Playing with the camera lens cover, of course!

Family pictures!

Our family is growing by 2 feet.....2 little baby feet!

A quick update!!

I'm really sad....I can't get any videos to load.  I recorded Leah walking and doing all of her tricks, but I can't share them because my computer won't upload them.  Sad day.  You'll just have to imagine it!!  She's cute!

My poor baby smashed her thumb on Sunday night in a folding chair.  It toppled over with her in it and sadly, I went to pick her up and didn't know she was attached.  Poor kid.  This picture was Tuesday, so it's already looking better.
Between Sunday sessions of Conference we went up the canyon with our friends and took their pictures.  Couldn't resist getting a few of Leah as well!!

Such a sweetheart.  I love this baby girl!!

So silly!

Sweetest profile ever!!

Leah is standing on a fence post.  My friend has her hands up Leah's dress to keep her steady!!!

She wouldn't stand up on her own.  It was actually later this day that she really took off walking, though.  She's been walking ever since!

She's been doing this funny thing where she'll plug her ears.  Don't know why!!

Clap, clap!!

Naughty, naughty!!!  All of that fabric used to be in my red tote.  At least it kept her entertained long enough for me to write in my journal!

And she was so happy doing it!!

Yesterday Alex and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary.  Really, we only saw each other for about 2 hours total.  Good thing we're going to Salt Lake tomorrow, going on a date and then visiting our families!!!   It's amazing to think that it's been 4 years, though.  We got me through school, we have a beautiful 1 year old daughter, we've gotten Alex through a lot of school (even though he has lots more), we've moved twice, we're still in love and having fun......although our fun is fewer and farther between this semester.  Alex is crazy busy with school and work.  I rarely see him and when I do, he has to do homework.  At least there are only 8 weeks left this semester.
Well, I have to get my baby to stop poking her eyes.  Gotta go!
