Leah at 5 months:
*Laughing became a lot more frequent and fun. It still took some effort to get laughs out, but they'd come a lot more often.
*Loves her Johnny-Jump-Up and prefers standing over anything else.
*Has become a champion at eating solid foods.
*Will hold a bottle for a few seconds/minutes until it falls.
*Mommy realized that Leah like toys, so she had to start packing some in her bag for church.
*Put anything on Leah's tummy and both hands go out to grab it and take it straight to her mouth.
*Has the best pouty lip I have ever seen. If anything scares her, she sticks her bottom lip out super far, waits a few seconds, then opens her mouth into a cry. Too cute! Sometimes we scare her on purpose just so we can see it. (I promise, we're not bad parents!)
*Also has the biggest grin to melt anyone's heart. Particularly her mommy and daddy's!!
Leah at 6 months: 15 lbs 1 oz. 25 inches tall.
*Has become attached to Mommy. She cries when I leave the room. Is happy when I come back.
*Eats solid foods once or twice a day and loves it.
*Had juice (diluted) for the first time a week ago. The whole bottle was gone in 5 minutes!
*Has stopped rolling over. She has never gone Back to Tummy, but the last 2 weeks she hasn't gone Tummy to Back either.
*Is showing left-hand dominance......Mommy is trying to change that!
*Laughs at almost anything. It's super easy to get laughs out now!
*Does this funny thing with her hands where she'll clasp them together and bring them to her mouth, away from her mouth, to her mouth.....back and forth. It's so funny!!!
*Can reach out and grab a toy if held in front of her.
*Wakes up ONCE a night for a quick 10-15 minute feeding.
*Definitely sleeps better on her tummy, but we switch off.
*Can feed herself with a bottle......she understands that it gives her something, so she'll be holding it and then put it directly into her mouth.
*When I bring her face close to mine, she opens her mouth wide open and gives me the BEST wet kisses a mommy could ever ask for.
*Discovered her toes 3 days ago. (2/21/12)
*She still lets me snuggle her to sleep sometimes, but she prefers to be put down and will fall asleep on her own.
Leah has the SWEETEST little personality. It's all smiles unless she's hungry. She is an absolute angel and is pretty content to play, but loves to have someone pay attention to her.
I have started a babysitting job for one little boy who is 20 months old. I can take Leah with me, which is fantastic. 20 hours a week. The little boy absolutely loves Leah and helps me give her her bottle of water when I'm feeding her cereal. He also puts all her toys on her tummy so she can get them. If he ever wants something, I can say, "Hold on, let me get the baby first" or "I need to change the baby's diaper and then we can do that" and he is so patient and waits for me to help Leah first. I couldn't ask for a better job.......except that both of his parents are usually home the whole time, so that makes it slightly awkward. Oh well......they usually change his diaper, feed him, and rock him to sleep. I just have to play!! I can handle that!
Well, here are a few pictures from the last 2 months that I have slacked at posting. I'm limiting it to 15 pictures, otherwise I'll be here all night. You can find all of the January pictures on Facebook in an album called "January '12". Enjoy!!!
Alex and a neighbor friend built a snowman in front of someones apartment on the top floor of our complex. It was facing the door, so they'd have a surprise when they opened their door!!! So funny!
Leah looks like a little pixi......who needs some golf clubs!!
Being sweet!
"What? Spit up isn't a good moisturizer?"
Grandma Lori came to visit!! Leah had a great time playing and laughing with her!
Leah thinks it's funny to do this.......and she usually doesn't fuss about it for a long time.
See?.....She did it again!
This is the pouty face I was talking about. If you look really close, you can see a tear shooting out of each eye. And you can see why we have to do this to her on purpose sometimes. It's just TOO CUTE!!!
Helping daddy work on the computer!
Just lounging in the recliner!.....I think I had a movie on and I sat her up to go do something really . I came back and found her watching the movie like this!!
Doing a great job holding the bottle by herself!
We found her scooted clear to the bottom of her crib. Normally she starts the night with her head almost touching the top!
Sometimes I think I'm a good photographer. It's probably just the subject matter. She's just so sweet, every picture of her is great!
Going to church was too tiring. She fell asleep on daddy's lap when we got home!
I love that cute face!
Hopefully I'll be faster at blogging again. I have some cute February pictures that I need to share with everyone!!! Until then, enjoy these new pics!!
